Overall Assessment: So this is the first Beltline park that was developed. It is this massive 21.5 acre piece of land that was basically undeveloped just south of Grant Park. I am unsure as to what the status is now though. It looks like there is this huge plan to implement an amazing playground (such as D.H. Stanton and Old Fourth Ward) with a dog park, splashpad, playground, and indoor skatepark, but I cannot seem to find when this is going to happen or what the hold up is currently. From a few articles from the AJC, it seems like it’s just going to be tennis courts and soccer fields, but I’m not 100% sure. Either way, I thought I would mention this park as it is in my neighborhood and I am pretty interested in its future.
Anyway, here is a link about the supposed Master Plan from the Beltline website. FYI, the plan was adopted in 2009 (and it’s now 2011). Hmmm….
