Address: Ashby Cir off Mayson Turner Rd. NW

Parking: on street parking
Cost: free
Age Range: toddler and up (nothing for older babies)
Ground Cover: wood mulch
Features: small-ish play structure with a curvy slide and a smaller straight slide, a wobbly bridge, half-rainbow climber, tic-tac-toe wall, and play tunnel. Away from the play structure is a large climbing dome (which is awesome!), and 4 big kid swings
Surrounding Park Area: larger area of greenspace with trees
Shade: some large trees provide some shade
Seating: no benches
Stroller/Wheelchair Access: no
Safety: the climbing dome is pretty big, so I would say experienced climbers only. Also, the playground has a lot of litter, which I find a safety hazard. Finally, there needs more safety mulch around the play area. It is looking thin.
Cons: Not the best neighborhood or the best playground. Beware. There is nothing to do for older babies. The play structure itself is a little too elementary for older preschoolers (I would say like 4 or 5). It’s just an odd age play range…also, no bathrooms or water fountains.
Overall Assessment: This playground is old and is showing its age. Nobody seems to care about it either. You can see active marks of vandalism all over the play structure and litter is scattered everywhere. I didn’t really feel comfortable being in the neighborhood either. I suppose if you live on the street or within walking distance AND are comfortable in the neighborhood, go ahead and play here, but I’m not returning.
If you are looking for a playground in this area, may I suggest the new Vine City Playground.
